Senior Advisor, Institutional Relations

Biography

As Senior Advisor, Institutional Relations, I advocate for an open, secure, and trustworthy Internet, focusing on leading international and regional organizations.

I firmly believe the Internet is a force for empowerment, innovation, development, and enjoyment of human rights. Working in cybersecurity policy for more than 15 years, I developed a strong interest in the Internet’s technical layer and became a passionate advocate for global interoperability, connectivity, and the multistakeholder governance model of the Internet.

Prior to joining the Internet Society, I was involved in research, policymaking, and capacity-building projects, combining positions at academic institutions with various consultancy projects for international organizations, civil society, and think tanks. I also volunteered in the technical community, participating in DNS-related policy development processes.

I live in The Hague, the Netherlands, with my partner. When I am not defending the Internet and its governance model, you can find me reading, taking long walks, working out in the gym, or knitting jumpers if it’s winter. I used to be an avid tango dancer, and I still very much enjoy listening to tango music, especially Golden Age orchestras.
